Battlefield: Bad Company – Conquest Mode Gameplay Video

I didn’t get much chance to play with the new Battlefield Bad Company Conquest Mode last night due to a Clan match in Warhawk which we won 4-1 :) So I am planning a big long sesh tonight fingers crossed. The Conquest mode really changes the style of play and the games seem to shift sides really quickly. Hear is a gameplay video I found on Youtube that I thought looked good, enjoy…

Battlefield Bad Company – Free Conquest Update coming today 7th of August!

Battlefield Bad Company – Free Conquest Update coming today 7th of August!

Thanks to my recent trial of Twitter.com I’ve just heard it on the grapevine that EA are set to release the new FREE Campaign Mode which should be a good 100mb download. Thanks to PS3Fanboy.com for the heads up :) This new BFBC mode is going to be a bit like “Zones” in Warhawk.

Here is the blurb from EA….

Conquest is here!

A brand new multiplayer mode is here, and it’s free!

Content includes the traditional Battlefield multiplayer game mode, Conquest. Conquest focuses on the capture and control of flags; once a team captures a control point, its members can re-spawn in the area. When a team loses control of all their flags or control points, they cannot re-spawn.

Maintaining control over the flags on the battlefield is a key to victory and the ability to re-spawn troops close to the battlefront can make all the difference for that last offensive push. Four existing maps have been redesigned along with all new lighting and weather effects, to give players a great battlefield on which to play Conquest.  Upon entering one of these maps, the U.S. ARMY will face off against either the Russian or Middle Eastern Coalition forces and the battle for control of the territory will begin.

Don’t have a copy of BF:Bad Company yet? Better go out and get one now!

See you on the Battlefield!

Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 – first week with it in my grubby mitts!

Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 – first week with it in my grubby mitts!

Battlefield Bad Company - Playstation 3 GameYour in Bad Company Now! Battlefield Bad Company the new game from EA & DICE on the Playstation 3 is game with a difference, you can blow more up….

A Lot more, 75% and up of the environment can be blown to pieces literally… You want a new door? make one, just fire a grenade at the wall and the wall will blow up, this is seriously satisfying gaming!

Battlefield Bad Company PS3 Game

Battlefield Bad Company has two game play options, Single player and multiplayer. The Singleplayer mission follows four renegade soldiers who go Absent Without Leave when they stumble upon something really worth fighting for. You play as Preston Marlowe in a story-driven campaign across enemy territory, fighting with Redford, Sweetwater and Haggard.

I’ve played two of the single player levels so far and so far I’m enjoying the story, its a little linear but then I enjoy multiplayer action more than singleplayer anyway. The general premises of the game is to basically steal gold from the enemy.

Battlefield Bad Company appealed to me though because of the multiplayer aspect, I love playing online with real people, real people are unpredictable and its more of a challenge. Although BF: BC is great online it is lacking a few key features that come as standard to most online shooters, more on that later.

With a huge selection of weapons and vehicles life in Bad Company is fun, you can choose from five different infantry classes.

Assault: You are armed with a Automatic Rifle, Grenades, a health injection  Life-2 thingi and your trusty Knife. My Favorite so far is definitely the M16 that rifle is fantastic, its really accurate even at distance.

Demolition: As the name suggests you are armed with a Missile Launcher and a Shotgun great for taking out tanks and causing maximum damage, destruction and deaths. Anti Tank Mines, Hand Grenades and a Combat Knife

Recon: Equipped to take you down from over half the map away, the Sniper Rifle is your main weapon with the Laser Designator comes into play later as an Unlock. You also have a powerful Handgun and Knife for close combat. A Motion Sensor will help you sneak about while collecting all that gold!

Specialist: Perfect for those wanting to get right into the thick of it great for close combat and especially good on the old sabotage game ;) Armed with a Light Automatic Rifle, such as an Uzi, Remote Explosives you will be devastating. You are also armed with a Tracer Gun which helps your teams missile launders hit the right target. As with the other classes the Specialist also get Hand Grenades and a trusty Combat Knife.

Support: Armed with a Light Machine Gun, you are well equipped to take on Infantry and with your Medic Kit you can help your team mate survive a bit longer. Also sporting a Power tool to quickly repair/destroy vehicles or decimate the enemy with your Mortar Strike when unlocked.

Battlefield Bad Company Multiplayer is where I think the gaming really starts. You can take part with 23 other players (perhaps 32 would have been better) in a 12 v 12 battle, one side is defending the crates of gold the other is attacking, I have to say the game does sound a bit cheesy, but I assure you its not when you are playing. EA really do need to add more game modes, they will be adding a Campaign type game mode in an upcoming update, but I think they need to do more than just that.

In the full Battlefield game you can play on 8 different maps there is Oasis (the map from the demo) which is set along a Middle Eastern river valley to a city. Deconstruction where battle is set in a Russian industrial zone. Valley Run takes place in a Militarized Russian Forest. End Of The Line a Barren Russian Landscape. Ascension set in a remote Russian Mountain Village. Harvest Day is held in a Lush European landscape of farms and fields. Over and Out will see you up the side of a mountain looking for the secret communication station. Final Ignition features a Middle Eastern Industrial Zone.

Playing Battlefield Bad Company online is great fun, the way the people and vehicles move is spot on, its really realistic. The ever changing cover as buildings get blown up is a great touch and really adds to the dynamics of defending or attacking. All in all this is a great game and I can see myself playing with it for many months, but thats not to say its perfect, its not, there are some real problems with Battlefield Bad Company that need to be ironed out ASAP!

For starters the multiplayer game joining system is rubbish, you have to basically join a random game, you have control over what map you would like, but trying to join a game with your friends using the idiotic “invite friends” into a squad thing is perhaps the most frustrating thing I’ve done this year. Why does it give you the option to “Join Session” with your mate, if the session is already full with 24 players!

Battlefield Bad Company PS3 Game

Why can’t I see a list of all the servers and choose the one I want to join? The multiplayer options have just not been thought out well enough, I was shocked, utterly shocked that they haven’t implemented any way off adding on your clan tag, what is that about? Every Battlefield game I’ve ever played before has had an option to put in your [dads] clan tag, so why the glaring mistake in this game?

Clans are a massive part of why online shooters do well, I do hope EA/DICE get their act together really quick an fix the problems, because they, all in all have a cracking game and it would be a shame to see it spoilt by these very easy to sort out problems.

Battlefield Bad Company PS3 Game

So all in all Battlefield Bad Company is a great game to play, but it needs a few alterations to make it into an amazing game. There is talk of a new game mode being added in the next few weeks which will be called, conquest, this should add a little variation, hopefully they will add clan support at the same time.

Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 DEMO Review

Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 DEMO Review

Right I’ve had the Battlefield: Bad Company Demo installed on the black beauty for four days now and I can definitely say that I am really looking forward to the real game turning up at my door later this month. Battlefield: Bad Company is the newest game from EA in their popular Battlefield series of games which has brought us such titles as Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 & Battlefield 2142, all of which were genre defining titles, will this one be the same?

The new game for PS3 is looking like it could very well be one of the best of the year. I’ve been playing for four days now and apart from playing a Clan match in Warhawk with the [T1Ts] on Thursday night, I have pretty much been playing the Battlefield: Bad Company Demo ever since it finished installing!

The Online part of game play is definitely my favorite, During a game defending the gold I just grounded a boat and pounded the other side of the river with shells, blew up half a house, loads of enemy soldiers and a good few palm trees as well! this really is a great game.

The idea behind the online multiplayer side of the game is that one side are protecting boxes of gold and the other side are trying to nick them. In the Demo you can either play the single player mission or play online multiplayer with one map available.

I enjoyed the Single player part of the demo, it was well put together and I think I will enjoy the whole thing when the game is released, but I have to say I’m getting this game for the Multiplayer aspect, I love multiplayer games.

When you join an online game you are given the option of 5 different styles of kit, Assault, Recon, Support, Specialist & Destruction, with each type of soldier you get a wide selection of weapon choices from Missile Launchers, M16’s, Grenades, Pistols to Sniper Rifles, Shotguns & Heavy Machine Guns. You will also have different choice of vehicles to get you into the thick of it! Heavy & Light Tanks, Boats, Helicopters, Hum V’s & Dune Buggies, each with multiple weapons for your squad mates.

Battlefield Bad Companies graphics are really nice with long depth of field, realistic effects and by far the best addition to a game this year, DESTRUCTIBLE ENVIRONMENTS!!!! 70+% of everything in the game is destructible, you can literally walk up to a wall with a missile launcher and blow a hole in the side, great if you need a doorway or there are some enemy soldiers hiding on the other side! Boom!

Any demo in my opinion that you can play more than 10 hours is a success and is a sign of a good game on the horizon. Needless to say I’ve pre-ordered Battlefield Bad Company and am really looking forward to it coming.
